Monday, November 14 thru Friday, November 18 – Turkey Coloring Contest
Gobble Gobble! Get creative and decorate your individual turkey printout out (click here). You can paint, color, or decorate it however you wish. Once finished, write your name on the back and turn it into your local EAC member by Friday, November 18. The EAC will then post your turkey in a central location for display and decoration. The submissions will be voted on by the EAC and the winner would be announced on Monday, November 21. He or she will receive a full size turkey for Thanksgiving dinner!
Monday, November 21 thru Friday, December 02 - Canned Food Drive
Did you know that nearly 700,000 people each year rely on emergency and supplemental food provided by the Food Depository and its member network? Help us fight this hunger in our Chicago communities this holiday season by participating in our annual canned food drive with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Here is a list of most needed items:
- Beans
- Canned fruit
- Canned vegetables
- Cereal
- Chili
- Jelly
- Macaroni and cheese
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
- Rice
- Shelf-stable milk
- Soup
- Stew
- Tuna
In the spirit of competition, we will be holding a department competition to see who can donate the most food. Each department will be given a box to fill. At the end of each day, your local EAC member will be by to collect and weigh each day’s donation. At the end of the contest, the department that has donated the most weight per person in their department will be awarded the ORD EAC trophy and will hold it until our next department contest!
Last year we donated 735 lbs of food. Let’s beat last year!

The ORD station as a whole donated over 220 lbs, so great job everyone! Your donation will directly help over 845,000 Chicagoans within Cook county who are food insecure. The EAC would like to thank all employees who generous donated this holiday season.
